My 11-year-old daughter, Anna, and I traveled to Honduras with an Unbound Awareness Trip to meet our sponsored child, Jaeli, and her mother, Lorenza. It was wonderful to meet the little girl whom we had come to know through letters for the past two years. We knew a few things about her family and her life, but we were completely unprepared to learn what a huge difference our sponsorship makes in their daily lives.

For the past 18 months or so, Steve Taylor of Virginia and his sponsored friend, Nathasha from India, have exchanged countless letters. In a previous blog post, Steve and Nathasha expressed how they feel like family, even though they had never met.
Well, they still feel like family, but they can finally say they have met one another!

They traveled to India on an awareness trip and became a part of their sponsored child’s everyday reality. They had a bright smile at the end of each day.
Sponsors explored the lifestyle, cuisine and hospitality of India, and gave CFCA staff and families a chance to present their talents and introduce the sponsors to the best of their reality.
