Girlie’s relationship with her sponsors Ed and Cheryl began in 2010. Girlie made a commitment to finish college, while Ed and Cheryl remained committed to giving constant support.
Last year, Girlie achieved her dream by graduating from college with a degree in business management/information technology. This accomplishment will allow her to find a job to support herself as well as her family. She has moved on from the Unbound program with the confidence to succeed.
“I know soon I will have a job because of what I achieved and God is there to guide me,” Girlie wrote in her farewell letter to her sponsors.
Girlie and her family live in the Philippines. She is the oldest of three children and joined the sponsorship program in 2004.
“Being in the program for nine years has been such a great blessing for me and for my family,” she wrote. “It brings me joy and happiness. I experienced different activities that led me on a very wonderful journey.”
Girlie’s sponsorship gave her hope and courage to continue in school. The love and support she received has helped her achieve her dream of an education.
“I am very thankful to you because you have been there for me,” she wrote. “Thank you for all your help, prayers and love that you extended to me.”
Although her sponsorship has ended, the impact of this relationship will forever be a part of her life.
“You are part of my success,” Girlie wrote. “I hope you will continue inspiring people for the next hundred years.
“Take care always, and your whole family will always be in our prayers. We will never forget you.
