For Mother’s Day, Lynn blogged about a recent letter she received from Christian’s mother, Lenis:

I am greeting you with much love hoping you are in good health. I send you my best wishes. We hope you are having a happy Easter. Christian likes to go to the river and play in the water. I want to tell you that it is very hot and we enjoy the shade of the trees; we have plenty around the house. It is beautiful.

“Sharath ó Friend of the Month” from

Lisa Hendey has graciously partnered with us by featuring a monthly invitation on for readers to consider sponsoring a friend through CFCA. This month we chose to tell Sharath’s story.

We’re hoping to find a sponsor for Sharath, a 10-year-old boy in India! Since his father passed away, Sharath’s mother is the sole breadwinner and works as a daily laborer. Her income is seasonal and doesn’t cover her family’s basic needs.
