In El Salvador every November 2, we celebrate the “Day of the Dead.”

It’s a time for visiting the graves of our loved ones.

In Santa Ana, we have the “Santa Isabel” cemetery, which is a popular cemetery in El Salvador.

Elsa is the mother of four children one of whom is sponsored through CFCA.

Every year Elsa’s family meets in the “Santa Isabel” cemetery to paint the headstone of their father, Jose. They decorate it with plastic and natural flowers.

Elsa is a mother of four teenagers. Her partner and father of her children, Jose Teshe, died nine years ago in a traffic accident.

For Elsa it has been difficult to take care of her four children on her own.

“CFCA is great. They supported me in the most difficult moments. They are my second family,” Elsa said.

A few months after Jose died, his son William Alexander entered the sponsorship program.

“With the help of God, my family and CFCA, I could move forward with life,” Elsa said.
